Question categories

  • General knowledge: a mix of everything, good for mixed groups.
  • Science: space, the human body, chemistry and how things work.
  • Geography: countries, capitals, rivers and landmarks.
  • History: famous events, inventions and people from the past.
  • Animals: fun facts about wildlife and pets, popular with families.
  • Kids: easier questions made for younger players.

How to run a quiz night

  1. Make teams. Teams of three to five work best. Use the random team generator so friends don’t all end up together.
  2. Plan rounds. Ten questions per round, with a different category each round, keeps things varied.
  3. Set a time limit. Thirty seconds per question with the online timer keeps the pace up.
  4. Reveal and score. Press Show answer after every team has written theirs down, then add up points at the end of each round.
  5. Finish with a tiebreak. If teams are level, the first to shout out the right answer to one last question wins.

Trivia in the classroom

Trivia is a quick way to review a topic, fill the last five minutes of a lesson or start the day. Use the Kids, Animals or Geography categories, add student names so the tool shows whose turn it is, and give points to teams rather than individuals so nobody feels on the spot. Questions don’t repeat until the whole category has been used, so you can come back to it every week.

On the road or at the dinner table

On a road trip, one person reads and everyone else answers; whoever gets it right reads next. At dinner, take turns choosing the category. Because the answer stays hidden until you tap it, the person reading can play too.
