When attention dips, spin. Each brain break takes one to three minutes, needs no equipment, and gets students moving, breathing or laughing before you go back to the lesson.
How to use the Brain Break Wheel
- Show the wheel on your projector or board.
- Let a student press Spin.
- Do the activity together for one to three minutes.
- Back to work, with fresher focus.
When to use a brain break
Short movement breaks work well every 20 to 30 minutes for younger students, after tests, and at the end of a long day. Calmer breaks like deep breathing suit the minutes before a quiz.
